Tyre Safety Month

This October is Tyre Safety Month and TyreSafe is asking Britain’s motorists What’s Stopping You? Tyre Safety Month raises awareness for tyre safety to help reduce incidents on the roads and with winter approaching, it is more important than ever to ensure that your tyres are road safe.

It is estimated that one-in-five drivers have never checked the tread on their tyres which rises to one-in-three among young drivers and so this October we encourage you to check and maintain your tyres. This will not only keep you safe but also reduce the cost of motoring as underinflated tyres will wear quicker and cause the vehicle to use more fuel. Tyres are a critical component of any vehicle, as the only point of contact between the road and the vehicle, it’s therefore crucial for tyres to be safe to allow for effective braking and cornering.

Remember to ACT on tyre safety and check your tyres at least once a month and before a long journey.

Air Pressure: Check the air pressure on all your tyres
Condition: Check for cracks and bulges
Tread: Check dread depths using the 20p test
